The Rhino & Lion Wildlife Conservation NPO was established on the 1 January 2007 in view of housing the Vulture Programme, dedicating its efforts to conserve southern Africa’s vultures with the emphasis placed on the Cape Vultures of Magaliesberg.

Although the NPO is fairly new, our directors, management committee and partners have been involved with vulture conservation for many years and bring a vast amount of expertise and knowledge to the forefront of the project.

The NPO has since expanded its activities to include those of other endangered species, however the Vulture Programme remains its flagship project and will continue to strive towards the continued survival of our natural heritage and The Vulture.

• The Exemption will be in terms of Section 10(1) and Section 18A of the Income Tax Act, No 58 of 1962
• Everyone donating R500,00 or more can claim according to the existing Act

A donation’s certificate in terms of section 18A of the Income Tax Act can be issued by us for donations received in excess of R500.00 (Five Hundred Rand) for the exclusive use by this NPO, the activities of which fall within Part II of the Ninth Schedule to the Income Tax Act.

Donations that are allowed where this NPO can issue a donation’s certificate are:

• Donations need to be unencumbered (unconditional) to further the objectives of this NPO.
• Donations can be made to specific projects to promote our conservation related projects.
• There must be no contractual obligations that need to be fulfilled or deliverables to be met as a result of this donation.
• We must be free to use its discretion as to how the donation will be utilised.

A section 18A tax certificate will be issued in February each year to coincide with the end of the tax year.
